ThrownZone Contests
ThrownZone runs fantasy football contests every NFL week, from free entries to 120-seat Hall of Fame flagships. You build a lineup from cards you own, it scores on live NFL stats, and the contest settles automatically after the games. Entry fees are paid in credits, which are free and can't be bought, so there is no real money at stake.
Two lineup formats
| Format | Lineup | Slate |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | 5 cards | A group of games: Sunday early, afternoon, primetime, or the whole weekend |
| Showdown | 4 cards, one is your Captain at 1.5× | A single game, such as Thursday or Monday night |
A lineup can't use the same player twice or two defenses from the same club. If a player doesn't play, his card scores zero, and there's no bench, so check the inactives before the lock.
Five tiers, one scoring system
| Tier | Cards needed (Classic) | Entry from | Superstars allowed | Max field |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | any 5 | Free – ~50 cr | 1 | 20,000 |
| Rare | 4 Rare+ and 1 Core+ | ~250 cr | 2 | 12,000 |
| Elite | 4 Elite+ and 1 Rare+ | ~1,200 cr | 3 | 4,000 |
| Legend | 2 Legend+ and 3 Elite+ | ~6,000 cr | 4 | 800 |
| Hall of Fame | 2 Hall of Fame and 3 Legend+ | ~30,000 cr | unlimited | 120 |
Rarity gates the table, it doesn't tilt it. Every card scores the same regardless of rarity, so higher tiers mean smaller fields and bigger pools, not stronger cards. The Superstar cap stops every lineup in a big field from being the same five names: at Core you get one star, so the rest of your lineup is where contests are won.
Kinds of contest
- Free Roll: no entry fee. The winner takes a Core PLUS pack, which can't be bought.
- Core 5: Any Five: free, any five positions (five quarterbacks is legal), one winner for every 25 entries.
- Tournament: the top half of the field is paid; every paid place gets its entry back first.
- Double Up: the top half each win 1.8× their entry.
- Winner Takes All and Head-to-Head: first place only.
- Prize Pack Party: pays PLUS packs by finishing band instead of credits.
- Fiat Frenzy: the flagship pool, paid down the field.
- Satellites and the Ladder: win seats, not credits, toward The Millionaire Maker, Mega Millionaire and the ThrownZone World Championship.
The top 5% of every credit contest also wins a PLUS pack of that contest's tier.
Deadlines and payouts
- Entries close five minutes before kickoff: Classic before the first game of its slate, Showdown before its game. The server enforces it for everyone.
- Before the lock you can edit or withdraw for a full refund. After it, nothing moves.
- Scores update live and can shift as official stats are corrected.
- Settlement runs two hours after the last game goes final. Credits, packs and tickets post automatically. A contest with fewer than two entries is refunded in full.
- Ties go to the lineup with the lowest serial number.
Your first contest
New accounts start with a Starter lineup, four Kickoff Packs and 5,000 credits. The Weekend board, which covers every Sunday and Monday game, is the easiest place to field a legal lineup from a first-day collection. Enter a contest →
